Health Care For Children promotes a healthy breastfeeding relationship between mom and baby. Certified Lactation Consultant in Liberty, MO
Our lactation program was developed in 2011 under the direction of Sheri Hunt, RN, IBCLC. Sheri has been a nurse with Health Care for Children for more than 20 years and because of her desire to assist breastfeeding mothers and their babies, Sheri became certified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
As a certified lactation consultant, Sheri has extensive knowledge about developing a breastfeeding relationship, measuring the growth of breastfed babies, and supporting new mothers with breastfeeding issues. The insight she provides as our in-house certified lactation consultant has helped our pediatricians, parents and patients, alike.
Families looking for more in-depth lactation support will appreciate that our Liberty pediatrician’s office has a certified lactation consultant available to answer questions and concerns at regularly scheduled doctor’s appointments. Or, if you need a more in-depth personal consultation, our certified lactation consultant is also available for individual appointments. Whether you are a new, expectant, or seasoned parent, you can seek all the breastfeeding knowledge you need from our board-certified lactation consultant.
Liberty Lactation Support Group
In addition to meeting with patients one-on-one, our certified lactation consultant also leads “Sprouts,” a weekly breastfeeding support group in Liberty, MO. The purpose of Sprouts is to ensure optimal weight gain of your baby and provide encouragement and reassurance for you as you work toward your feeding goals. You will have the opportunity to have your breastfeeding questions answered and find support among other moms and our professional staff, including a trained certified lactation consultant.
Our group meets every Tuesday between the hours of 2:30 and 4:30 pm. Also now doing the first Tuesday of each month from 2:30-6:30 pm. You can come in at your convenience and it is free of charge!
